An old hay rake, left to rest in a snow-covered field in rural New Brunswick long after its working days were done. Its iron wheels and curved tines have weathered to a warm rust against the cool blue-grey of the wooded hillside behind — a quiet reminder of how Maritime farms were worked not so long ago.
Photographed on Kodak Ektar 25 film near Welsford, New Brunswick, around 1991. A companion to Retired Hay Mower and No More Mowing.
Available as a Poster, Canvas print, Metal Framed Poster, or Acrylic Print — each in 12x18" and 16x24". The poster is printed on 200 gsm semi-glossy paper with a subtle sheen that lifts colour and resists fading.
